The 4th Edition of Khelo India Youth Games will be hosted by Haryana. This was announced by Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Shri Kiren Rijiju and Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on 25th of July, 2020 .

  • The fourth edition of Khelo India Youth Games has been scheduled to be conducted after Tokyo Olympics.
  • It will be held in Panchkula, Haryana.
  • Star Sports will be the official broadcaster of the 4th Khelo India Event.
  • The third Khelo India Youth Games was held from 10 January 2020 in Guwahati.

About Khelo India

  • Khelo India Youth Games was formerly known as Khelo India school Games.
  • It is a national level multidisciplinary grass-root games in India held for two categories- U-17 school students and U-21 college students.
  • The game was first held on 31st January 2018 and was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
  • Khelo India programme has been introduced to revive the sports culture in India at the grass-root level by building a strong framework for all sports played in our country and establish India as a great sporting nation.
  • To accomplish the above objectives Khelo India Programme has been divided into 12 verticals –
    • Play Field Development.
    • Community Coaching Development.
    • State Level Khelo India Centres.
    • Annual sports Competitions.
    • Talent Search and Development
    • Utilization and Creation/ Upgradation of Sports Infrastructure.
    • Support to National/Regional/State Sports Academics.
    • Physical fitness of school children.
    • Sports for women.
    • Promotion of sports among people with disabilities.
    • Sports for Peace and Development.
    • Promotion of Rural and indigenous/tribal games.
